Based on paper: Mauche, C. and Raymond J.C., ApJ, accepted April 2000.
Results here are from an observation taken 26 Mar 1997. More recently, on 23 February 2000 EUVE again slewed to observe OY Car as a TOO target, this time for Dr. Janet Mattei, who is representing the amateur-astronomer-based American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO). Mattei is collaborating with Mauche on this project.
This recent observation, approved by the EUVE Project as Director's Discretionary Time (DDT), was an innovative collaboration between the Project, Dr. Chris Mauche (LLNL), and the AAVSO, and is the latter's first-ever satellite TOO observation (see news alerts at www.aavso.org). Within days after approval of Dr. Mattei's DDT request the source entered "super outburst", which initiated the TOO observation.
